Editing your memory

Updated 2025-06-01

What is memory?

Briefly's memory stores what it knows about you — your preferences, context, and goals. This information is used to personalise every brief. For example, if you tell Briefly you prefer bullet points and concise summaries, it will apply that style consistently.

Where to find it

Go to Settings → Memory. You will see three sections:

  • Preferences — how you like your briefs formatted (tone, length, structure).
  • Context — background information about you and your work (your role, company, key projects).
  • Goals — the targets you are tracking (see Setting a goal).

Making changes

Click into the Preferences or Context text area, edit the text, and click Save changes. Changes take effect from the next brief onwards.

What updates memory automatically?

When you reply to a brief, Briefly extracts preferences and context from your reply and updates the relevant fields. You can always override or refine these in Settings.

Change log

The Memory page shows a history of recent changes — who or what changed each field, and when. This helps you understand how your memory has evolved over time.
