What Briefly reads from Gmail

Briefly scans emails you received in the last 24 hours that match your brief description — for example, important messages, newsletters, or threads from specific senders. It never stores your emails; it reads and summarises in real time.

How to connect

1. Go to Settings → Connections.
2. Click Connect next to Gmail.
3. You will be redirected to Google's sign-in screen. Authorise Briefly to read your mail.
4. You are returned to Briefly. The connection should show as Active.

Scopes used

Briefly requests gmail.readonly — it can read messages but cannot send, delete, or modify anything.

Disconnecting

Go to Settings → Connections, click Gmail, and choose Disconnect. You can also revoke access at any time from your Google account permissions page.

Troubleshooting

If the connection shows as Error, try disconnecting and reconnecting. If it persists, contact support.
